Bereavement, Grief, and Loss

Death of a loved one can affect us in many different ways. There is really no right or wrong way to grieve.

Death of a beloved spouse, parent, child, sibling, friend, family member, or loving pet can naturally cause us pain and sadness when they die. Their death may bring up many complicated emotions. You may even begin to question existence itself, meaning of life, and purpose for living.

Are any of these grief questions true for you or someone you care about?

Do you find life less interesting now that your loved one has died?

Are you avoiding friends and family?

Do you find that most people are uncomfortable and don't know what to say to you now that your loved one has died?

Do you think about your loved one most of the time?

Are you hesitant to enjoy yourself now that your love one has died?

Do you feel you will never be able to love again?

Do you find that your life revolves around keeping your loved one's memory alive?

Do you feel life has less meaning now that your loved one has died?

If you answered yes to most of these questions you may want to consider counseling for bereavement, grief, and loss.
